1. Definitions
“Organiser” refers to the owner of the Queens competition;
“Performer” is the name recorded on the Competitor Application Form;
“Competition” refers to Queens Comp to be held on 16th November 2024;
2. Initial Selection Criteria
The Performer must be female;
The Performer must be a member at the Queens of Pole Fitness & Dance studio(s),
The Performer must be a on current Bronze, Silver or Gold Membership;
The Performer must be at least 16 years of age. All minors must have parental consent to participate;
The Performer must be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident.
3. The Performer may submit one entry into each category division only; The performer may enter multiple divisions.
4. Participation in the Competition requires close adherence to all the conditions outlined:
a) The Performer declares that she has no contracts of obligations by other Organisations or persons related to pole dancing;
b) Acknowledgment on the online form that you have read and understand the rules and regulations of the Competition;
c) Recent photos of the Performer must accompany the application. All photos are to be in electronic format, the Performer must include at least one portrait orientation pole dancing photographs in high resolution. Maximum 4 photos in total.
d) The photos provided must have no copyright attached to them and the Organiser reserves the right to publish said photos for the purposes of promoting the Competition.
5. The winner of their division may not re-enter that same division the following year; they will automatically be entered into the next level division or may enter into another division. Ie. Beginner Winner must enter Intermediate Division or Floor the following year.
6. Stipulations on Film & Photography
a) All photography and other footage remain the property of the Organiser.
b) The Performer has no rights to compensation for photography and other footage made before, during and after the Competition;
c) The Performer explicitly and irrevocably agrees that all footage and photography can be used by the Organiser for promotional, advertising and commercial purposes;
d) No photographs or footage is to be taken (by any person or group) during the Competition or can be used by the Performer without express written permission from the Organiser.
7. The Division
a) The Performer is skilled in pole dancing;
b) The Performer may choose the music for her show;
c) A pole dance show is no longer than 3.00 minutes;
d) The title of “The Queen” is valid for one year from the date of the Competition in November of each year held;
e) The Performers may join the audience before and after their show but not converse with the judges during any part of the evening;
f) The Performer may remove articles of clothing/costume as per division guidelines. The performer may not perform nude or partially nude. G-strings and pasties are permitted;
g) Any failure to abide by the above mentioned rules will result in immediate disqualification;
h) The poles used in the Competition will be brass 38mm poles (Pussycat Poles). There will be two poles, one stationary (stage right) and one spinning (stage left) measuring 4m tall. Both poles (Static and Spin) must be used during the routine;
i) The Division will be judged on: pole work (15 points), dance (10 points), presentation (5 points) and performance (5 points) In the event of a tie judges will consult and make a final decision.
8. Presentation / Costume Criteria
Footwear - competitors may wear heels, or boots. Bare feet are not permitted in classic divisions;
You may use props. They must be signed off by the Organiser by 1st November, any props submitted after this date will be denied;
All props must be approved in advance (usually anything that can be transported easily on a plane, no plastic confetti or glitter cannons, unless with written permission from your Organiser); props must be able to be set up and packed down in less than 2 minutes;
Human props must hold a valid audience ticket for themselves. Maximum of 2 human props permitted at the competition per performance;
Use of grip aids (Dry Hands, Girlie Grip, Dancing Dust and Tite Grip) are permitted, but only on the competitor, No grip can be applied to the pole directly by the competition or stage crew. Any other grip aids must be approved prior to competition day.
9. Heats and the Competition
a) Performers may not communicate with members of the judging panel before, during or after the Competition;
b) During the Competitors, the performer must abide by the rules and arrive in advance as stated by the Organiser;
c) An expert judging panel will score the competitors performances, their decision is final;
d) The Organiser reserves the right to expel a performer from participation, both before and during the Competition;
e) The Competition performers must be available for a photo shoots and interviews prior to the Competition if requested;
f) The Organiser expects the prize-winners to co-operate with the promotion of the Competition and activities. This may include pre, during and post Competition media interviews and photographs;
g) Dressing rooms/areas are for competitors and selected staff only – they are off limits to family members or friends of the Performers;
h) Performers are not permitted to drink alcohol or take drugs before or during the night of the Competition.
i) The Organiser reserves the right to invite wild card entries to compete in the Competition. Wild Card entrants are required to pay for their transport and accommodation needs;
10. “The Queen (YEAR)” Title
a) The title “The Queen (2024) ” is an official title valid for one year commencing the date of the Competition;
b) The Organiser reserves the right to retract the title if the Performer causes any damages to the Competition;
11. The Organiser
a) The Organiser is not liable for injury or damage resulting from participation in the Competition, which includes any transportation to and from the Competition;
b) The Organiser reserves the right to change the rules contained herein;
c) All decisions not addressed in this document will be made by the Organiser;
d) Any decision by the Organiser is binding;
e) The organiser reserves the right to change the rules at any time.
